要旨

同じ糸から、平織りにも朱子織りにもできる。本稿は、布の性格を分けているのが糸ではなく、交差の数と浮きの長さという二つの数であることを、繰り返しの上で数える。新しい定理も法則も主張しない。

第一に、これが本稿の芯である。交差の数は織り方で四倍違う。$8\times8$ の繰り返しで、平織りは $128$ 点、朱子織りは $32$ 点で、比は $\mathbf{4.000000}$ である（第2節）。

第二に、$1$ ますあたりで見ると、$2.000000$ と $\mathbf{0.500000}$ である。平織りはどのますでも上下が入れ替わり、朱子織りは四ますに一度しか入れ替わらない（第2節）。

第三に、交差を減らすと、浮きが伸びる。糸が続けて浮く最大の長さは平織り $1$、綾織り $4$、朱子織り $7$ である（第3節）。

第四に、表の見え方は、交差の数とは別の量である。表に出る点は平織り $32$・綾織り $32$・朱子織り $8$ で、綾織りと平織りは同じ $32$ なのに交差は $4.000000$ 倍違う（第3節）。

第五に、だから「同じ糸なら同じ布」ではない。糸を変えずに、交差を $128$ から $32$ へ、浮きを $1$ から $7$ へ動かせる（第4節）。

第六に、分離子は、糸を問うか、交差の数を問うかである。布の性格を語るとき、材料の話と組み方の話が混ざっている（第4節）。

Abstract

The same yarn can be made into plain weave or into satin.This paper counts, over a repeat, that what separates the cloths is not the yarn but two numbers: the interlacings and the float length.No new theorem or law is claimed.

First, and this is the core. The interlacings differ fourfold with the weave、over an $8\times8$ repeat, $128$ for plain weave and $32$ for satin, a ratio of $\mathbf{4.000000}$ (Section 2).

Second, per cell that is $2.000000$ against $\mathbf{0.500000}$、plain weave swaps at every cell; satin swaps once in four (Section 2).

Third, fewer interlacings means longer floats、the longest run is $1$ for plain, $4$ for twill and $7$ for satin (Section 3).

Fourth, the face is a different quantity from the interlacings、the points showing are $32$, $32$ and $8$: plain and twill agree at $32$ while their interlacings differ by $\mathbf{4.000000}$ (Section 3).

Fifth, so “same yarn, same cloth” does not hold、without changing a thread, the interlacings run from $128$ to $32$ and the floats from $1$ to $7$ (Section 4).

Sixth, the separator is whether one asks about the yarn or about the interlacings、talk about a cloth’s character mixes a question of material with a question of construction (Section 4).
