要旨
衛生行政報告例（令和6年度）の第10表から、理容所と美容所の施設数・従業理容師数・従業美容師数・使用確認件数・閉鎖命令件数を数え、経済センサス（令和3年）の理容業・美容業と突き合わせた。
理容所は107,995施設、美容所は277,752施設。 従業理容師194,531人、従業美容師588,291人。
経済センサスと比べると、ずれ方が理容と美容で違う。
美容のずれは、理容のずれの1.38倍である。
1施設あたりは理容1.80人、美容2.12人。 全産業の11.80人（X001）の6分の1以下で、日本でもっとも小さい商売のひとつである。
美容所は理容所の2.57倍あるが、これも地域で大きく違う。 東京都3.90倍に対して秋田県1.39倍、上と下で2.80倍。理容所のほうが多い都道府県は、1つも無い。
人口10万人あたりの理容所は、秋田県233.9に対して神奈川県48.0で4.87倍。 高齢化率との相関は r = +0.792。美容所は山梨県332.3に対して神奈川県142.4で2.33倍にとどまる。
全国385,747施設に対して、閉鎖命令は0件である。
Abstract
From Table 10 of the Report on Public Health Administration (FY2024) I counted barbershops and beauty salons（premises, licensed barbers and beauticians, use confirmations and closure orders）and matched them against the barbering and beauty categories of the Economic Census (2021).
There are 107,995 barbershops and 277,752 beauty salons, with 194,531 working barbers and 588,291 working beauticians.
Against the Economic Census, the two trades disagree by different amounts.
The beauty discrepancy is 1.38 times the barbering discrepancy.
Per premises there are 1.80 barbers and 2.12 beauticians. That is under a sixth of the all-industry figure of 11.80 (X001), making these among the smallest trades in Japan.
There are 2.57 beauty salons per barbershop, but this too varies sharply: 3.90 in Tokyo against 1.39 in Akita, a spread of 2.80. Not one prefecture has more barbershops than beauty salons.
Barbershops per 100,000 population run from 233.9 in Akita to 48.0 in Kanagawa, a spread of 4.87, correlating with the ageing rate at r = +0.792. For beauty salons the spread is only 2.33 (Yamanashi 332.3 to Kanagawa 142.4).
Against 385,747 premises nationwide, closure orders numbered zero.
