要旨
臨床試験の登録簿 ClinicalTrials.gov（U.S. National Library of Medicine）の API で、完了した介入試験を主要な完了日の年（2008〜2025 年）ごとに数え、結果が登録されているか、結果をいつ提出し、いつ掲載されたかを数えた（2026 年 9 月 27 日取得・ClinicalTrials.gov がデータを処理した日は 2026-09-25T09:00:04）。試験を行った人や組織の良し悪しは論じない。結果の登録が求められる試験の範囲や、制度については数えていない。新しい数学的定理も新しい法則も主張しない。
第一に、今の時点で「結果あり」の割合を数えると、主要な完了日が 2008 年の試験の 0.387 から 2024 年の 0.203 へ、16 年とも前の年より下がって見えた（第 4 節）。
第二に、これが本稿の芯である。完了から同じ時間で比べると、向きが逆になった。完了の翌年末までに結果を提出した割合は 2008 年の 0.109 から 2024 年の 0.182 へ上がり、3 年後の末までの提出は 2008 年の 0.200 から 2014 年の 0.253 まで上がって、2022 年は 0.229 だった（第 4 節）。
第三に、今の時点の「結果あり」には、完了からの時間の分が入っている。2008 年の「結果あり」のうち 0.483 は、完了の 3 年後の末より後に提出されたものだった。2019 年ではこれが 0.081 だった（第 4 節）。
第四に、完了した介入試験に占める段階なし（機器や行動の試験など）の割合は、2008 年の 0.234 から 2024 年の 0.685 に増えた。3 年後の末までの提出の割合の 2008→2022 年の変化 +0.029 は、群の中の変化 +0.120 と構成の変化 −0.091 に分かれた（第 5 節）。
第五に、結果を提出した日と、掲載された日は違う。完了の翌年末までに掲載された数は、同じ期限までに提出された数の 0.582 倍（2017 年）〜0.821 倍（2024 年）だった（第 6 節）。
第六に、分けるのは 完了からの時間をそろえるか、今の時点で数えるか である。「結果を公表していない試験の割合が増えた（減った）」と聞いたら、完了からどれだけの時間で数えたか、提出か掲載か、どの種類の試験かを確かめる。
Abstract
Using the API of the clinical trial registry ClinicalTrials.gov (U.S. National Library of Medicine), this paper counted completed interventional studies by the year of their primary completion date (2008–2025), and counted whether results are posted and when results were submitted and posted (retrieved 27 September 2026; the data were processed by ClinicalTrials.gov on 2026-09-25T09:00:04). Whether the people or organizations who ran the trials did well or badly is not discussed. The range of trials required to report results and the rules are not counted. No new mathematical theorem and no new law are claimed.
First, counting as of now, the share "with results" appeared to fall from 0.387 for trials with a primary completion date in 2008 to 0.203 for 2024, lower than the previous year in all 16 years (Section 4).
Second, and this is the core of this paper, comparing at the same time since completion reverses the direction. The share submitting results by the end of the year after completion rose from 0.109 for 2008 to 0.182 for 2024, and the share submitting by the end of the 3rd year after rose from 0.200 for 2008 to 0.253 for 2014 and was 0.229 for 2022 (Section 4).
Third, "has results" as of now includes the part that came with time since completion. Of the 2008 trials "with results," 0.483 submitted them after the end of the 3rd year after completion. For 2019 this was 0.081 (Section 4).
Fourth, the share of completed interventional studies without phases (such as device or behavioral studies) rose from 0.234 in 2008 to 0.685 in 2024. The change of +0.029 in the share submitting by the end of the 3rd year after (2008→2022) split into +0.120 within groups and −0.091 from composition (Section 5).
Fifth, the date results were submitted and the date they were posted differ. The number posted by the end of the year after completion was 0.582 times (2017) to 0.821 times (2024) the number submitted by the same deadline (Section 6).
Sixth, what separates them is whether you align the time since completion or count as of now. When you hear that "the share of trials not reporting results has increased (or decreased)," check how long after completion it was counted, whether submission or posting was counted, and which kinds of trials were counted.
