官能評価では、正答率がそのまま識別能力として読まれる。本稿が示すのは、当てずっぽうの下駄が正答率の意味を方式ごとに変えること、そして同じ「半分正解」が一方では能力四分の一、他方では能力ゼロを意味することである。新しい定理も法則も主張しない。

第一に、これが本稿の芯である。三点識別法で正答率が半分なら、識別できているのは四人に一人である。$\mathbf{0.500000}$ が $\mathbf{0.250000}$ を意味する（$12$ 桁）（第2節）。

第二に、同じ数が二点比較では能力ゼロを意味する。$\mathbf{0.000000}$ である（$12$ 桁）（第2節）。

第三に、下駄の高さぶんだけ、目盛りが縮む、三点識別法で $0.75$ の正答率が意味するのは $\mathbf{0.625000}$ にとどまる（第2節）。

第四に、$30$ 人で有意になるのは $\mathbf{15}$ 人からである。上側確率 $\mathbf{0.043482}$、一つ手前の $14$ 人では $\mathbf{0.089771}$ で境目を越える（第3節）。

第五に、その境目がちょうど「半数正答」に落ちる。$12$ 桁でちょうど $0.5$ だが、論文405 によりこの一致は同根の証拠にならない（第3節）。

第六に、分離子は、選択肢が何本あるかである。下駄の高さは $1/k$ で、目盛りの縮み方はそれだけで決まる（第4節）。

Abstract

In sensory work a correct-response rate is read directly as discriminating ability.What this paper shows is that the guessing floor changes what a rate means from one design to another, so that the same “half correct” means a quarter of the panel in one design and none of it in the other.No new theorem or law is claimed.

First, and this is the core.Half correct on a triangle test means one panellist in four can tell、$\mathbf{0.500000}$ means $\mathbf{0.250000}$, to $12$ digits (Section 2).

Second, the same number means no ability in a paired comparison、$\mathbf{0.000000}$, to $12$ digits (Section 2).

Third, the scale is compressed by the height of the floor、a triangle-test rate of $0.75$ means only $\mathbf{0.625000}$ (Section 2).

Fourth, with $30$ panellists significance begins at $\mathbf{15}$、an upper tail of $\mathbf{0.043482}$, while $14$ gives $\mathbf{0.089771}$ and crosses back (Section 3).

Fifth, that boundary lands exactly on half the panel、exactly $0.5$ to $12$ digits, though under Paper 405 the coincidence is not evidence of a common root (Section 3).

Sixth, the separator is how many alternatives are offered、the floor is $1/k$, and the compression of the scale follows from that alone (Section 4).
