二重跳びができないのは、跳ぶ力が足りないからだ、と思いやすい。本稿は、何重跳びにどれだけの高さが要るかを、縄をまわす速さと並べて数える。新しい定理も法則も主張しない。

第一に、要る高さは、くぐる回数の二乗に比例する。毎秒 $3$ 回まわすとき、一重 $\mathbf{0.136250}$ m、二重 $\mathbf{0.545000}$ m、三重 $1.226250$ m で、四倍・九倍である（第2節）。

第二に、これが本稿の芯である。回す速さを二倍にすれば、二重跳びも一重跳びの高さで足りる。毎秒 $6$ 回にまわすと、二重跳びに要る高さは $0.136250$ m で、毎秒 $3$ 回の一重跳びと同じになる（第2節）。

第三に、足の離れている時間は式と合う。高さ $0.05$〜$0.40$ m の跳躍を細かく刻んで追った時間は、式 $2\sqrt{2h/g}$ と $2\times10^{-5}$ 秒以内で一致した（第3節）。

第四に、高さが決まると、一重跳びの回数に上限がある。高さ $10$ cm では足が $0.285569$ 秒離れ、一重跳びは毎分 $\mathbf{210.107116}$ 回まで（第3節）。

第五に、同じ高さで二重跳びをするには、腕を倍の速さでまわす。高さ $10$ cm のままなら、毎秒 $\mathbf{7.003571}$ 回まわす必要がある（第3節）。

第六に、分離子は、跳ぶ力を問うか、腕の速さを問うかである。要る高さは回数の二乗に比例し、まわす速さの二乗に反比例するので、腕の速さを二倍にするのは高さを四倍にするのと同じだけ効く（第4節）。

Abstract

It is easy to assume that failing a double under means not jumping hard enough.This paper counts how much height each number of passes needs, side by side with how fast the rope is turned.No new theorem or law is claimed.

First, the height needed grows with the square of the number of passes: at $3$ turns a second, a single needs $\mathbf{0.136250}$ m, a double $\mathbf{0.545000}$ m and a triple $1.226250$ m, four and nine times as much (Section 2).

Second, and this is the core. Turning twice as fast lets a double under use the height of a single: at $6$ turns a second, a double needs $0.136250$ m, the same as a single at $3$ turns a second (Section 2).

Third, time off the ground matches the formula. Following jumps of $0.05$ to $0.40$ m in fine steps gave times matching $2\sqrt{2h/g}$ within $2\times10^{-5}$ seconds (Section 3).

Fourth, a fixed height caps the number of singles: at $10$ cm the feet are off the ground for $0.285569$ seconds, allowing at most $\mathbf{210.107116}$ singles a minute (Section 3).

Fifth, a double at the same height needs twice the arm speed: staying at $10$ cm requires $\mathbf{7.003571}$ turns a second (Section 3).

Sixth, the separator is whether one asks about jumping power or arm speed: the height needed grows with the square of the passes and falls with the square of the turning speed, so doubling arm speed does as much as quadrupling the height (Section 4).
