要旨

染料が繊維に入って落ち着くことを染着と呼ぶ。だがその下には、頭打ちになる仕組みと、いくらでも入る仕組みの二つがある。二つが濃い側で分かれ、薄い側で重なることを数で示す。新しい定理も法則も主張しない。

第一に、席に着く型には天井がある。濃度を $1000$ にしても占有率は $\mathbf{0.999500}$ で、$1$ を超えない（第2節）。

第二に、その型では、増え方がしぼんでいく。濃度を $10$ 倍にしたときの増加は、濃度 $1$ で $\mathbf{1.428571}$ 倍、濃度 $10$ で $\mathbf{1.044776}$ 倍になる（第2節）。

第三に、体積に溶け込む型には天井が無い。濃度 $10$ 倍はいつでもちょうど $\mathbf{10.000000}$ 倍で、濃度 $1000$ では $\mathbf{20000.000000}$ になる（第3節）。

第四に、これが本稿の芯である。薄いところでは、二つを見分けられない。濃度 $0.001$ から $0.01$ では、席の型でも $\mathbf{9.823529}$ 倍で、比例からの隔たりが小さい（第3節）。

第五に、だから天井の有無は、薄い側の測定では決まらない。見分けるには、天井に近づくまで濃度を上げるしかない（第3節）。

第六に、分離子は、染料の行き先が有限個の席か、体積かである。席なら数え上げられ、体積なら数え上げられない（第4節）。

Abstract

A dye entering a fibre and settling there is called dyeing. Beneath that word lie two mechanisms: one that saturates and one that takes in as much as offered.That the two diverge at high concentration and coincide at low is shown in numbers.No new theorem or law is claimed.

First, the site-filling kind has a ceiling、even at a concentration of $1000$ the occupancy is $\mathbf{0.999500}$ and never exceeds one (Section 2).

Second, in that kind the gain shrinks、a tenfold rise in concentration gives $\mathbf{1.428571}$ at concentration $1$ and $\mathbf{1.044776}$ at $10$ (Section 2).

Third, the volume kind has no ceiling、a tenfold rise always gives exactly $\mathbf{10.000000}$, reaching $\mathbf{20000.000000}$ at a concentration of $1000$ (Section 3).

Fourth, and this is the core. At low concentration the two cannot be told apart、between $0.001$ and $0.01$ even the site kind gives $\mathbf{9.823529}$, close to proportionality (Section 3).

Fifth, so the presence of a ceiling cannot be settled on the dilute side、telling them apart requires raising the concentration until the ceiling is approached (Section 3).

Sixth, the separator is whether the destination is a finite set of sites or a volume、sites can be counted; a volume cannot (Section 4).
