要旨

安全在庫は「品切れしない確率」を決めれば計算できる。本稿が示すのは、その確率を「九」一つぶん上げるたびに要る在庫の増え方が大きくなること、そして同じ量がリードタイムには平方根でしか効かないことである。新しい定理も法則も主張しない。

第一に、分位点は独立に確かめられる。$z(0.90)=\mathbf{1.2816}$・$z(0.99)=\mathbf{2.3263}$・$z(0.9999)=\mathbf{3.7190}$ が既知の表と $10^{-4}$ で一致する（第2節）。

第二に、これが本稿の芯である。「九」を足すごとに増分が加速する。$90$ から $99$ へは $\mathbf{41.7919}$ 個、$99$ から $99.99$ へは $\mathbf{55.7067}$ 個で、比は $\mathbf{1.3330}$ である（第2節）。

第三に、加速するのに、在庫そのものは爆発しない。$90$ パーセントの $\mathbf{51.2621}$ 個から $99.99$ パーセントの $\mathbf{148.7607}$ 個まで、$3$ 倍に収まる（第2節）。

第四に、リードタイムには平方根でしか効かない。$4$ 分の $1$ にして安全在庫はちょうど半分（$12$ 桁）、半分にしても $\mathbf{0.7071}$ 倍にしかならない（第3節）。

第五に、論文383 と同じ $z$ が逆向きに立っている。あちらは $z\sigma/\sqrt{n}$ で加入者が増えると減り、こちらは $z\sigma\sqrt{L}$ で待ち時間が延びると増える（第4節）。

第六に、分離子は、$z$ が掛かる相手が分母にいるか分子にいるかである。同じ分位点でも、置かれる場所で意味が逆になる（第4節）。

Abstract

Safety stock follows once a no-stockout probability is chosen.What this paper shows is that each further nine in that probability costs more stock than the last, while the same quantity responds to lead time only as a square root.No new theorem or law is claimed.

First, the quantiles can be checked independently、$z(0.90)=\mathbf{1.2816}$, $z(0.99)=\mathbf{2.3263}$ and $z(0.9999)=\mathbf{3.7190}$ agree with tabulated values to $10^{-4}$ (Section 2).

Second, and this is the core.Each further nine costs more、$90$ to $99$ takes $\mathbf{41.7919}$ units, $99$ to $99.99$ takes $\mathbf{55.7067}$, a ratio of $\mathbf{1.3330}$ (Section 2).

Third, the increments accelerate but the stock does not explode、from $\mathbf{51.2621}$ units at $90$ per cent to $\mathbf{148.7607}$ at $99.99$, within a factor of three (Section 2).

Fourth, lead time enters only as a square root、quartering it halves the stock exactly to $12$ digits, and halving it gives only $\mathbf{0.7071}$ (Section 3).

Fifth, the same $z$ stands the other way up in Paper 383、there it is $z\sigma/\sqrt{n}$, falling as policies are added; here $z\sigma\sqrt{L}$, rising as the wait lengthens (Section 4).

Sixth, the separator is whether what $z$ multiplies sits in the denominator or the numerator、the same quantile means the opposite thing depending on where it is placed (Section 4).
