要旨

本稿が問うのは、大きさの量で層に分けると何が動いて何が動かないのか、である。答えは、大きさが動き、方向は動かない。新しい数学定理も新しい法則も主張しない。

第一に、大きさの量で層に分けると、先の値動きの大きさは動く。 第5層 ÷ 第1層は 1.5573 から 2.4674 倍である（第3節）。

第二に、これが本稿の芯である。★ だが方向の情報は動かない。 D の幅は −0.2727 から +0.1400 pips（差 0.4127）で、日次 t の絶対値が 2 以上の層は 20 のうち 0 である（第3節）。

第三に、★ 同じ量の符号を信号にすると、そこで初めて D が動く。 符号版の D は 0.1625 から 1.7403 pips（差 1.5778）で、日次 t の絶対値が 2 以上の層は 10 のうち 5 である（第4節）。

第四に、層は効いている。効いていないのは方向についてだけである。 同じ層で「D の絶対値 ÷ 先の値動きの大きさ」は中央 0.001912 で、大きさが何倍になってもこの割合は増えない（第5節）。

第五に、予言④が半分外れた。 合成乱数では大きさすら動かない。第5層 ÷ 第1層は 0.9900 から 1.0395 倍である（第6節）。

第六に、★ したがって二つの半分は出所が違う。 大きさが分かれるのは相場にボラティリティの群れがあるからで、方向が分かれないのは量が符号を持たないことの帰結である。前者は市場の性質、後者は代数である（第6節）。

Abstract

What this paper asks is what moves and what does not when layers are cut on a magnitude、and the answer is: the magnitude moves and the direction does not. No new mathematical theorem and no new law is claimed.

First, cutting layers on a magnitude does move the size of the forward move. The fifth layer over the first runs from 1.5573 to 2.4674 times (Section 3).

Second, and this is the core. ★ But the directional information does not move. D spans −0.2727 to +0.1400 pips (a range of 0.4127), and the daily t reaches 2 in absolute value in 0 of 20 layers (Section 3).

Third, ★ putting the sign of the same quantity into the signal is where D starts to move. The sign version gives D from 0.1625 to 1.7403 pips (a range of 1.5778), with the daily t reaching 2 in 5 of 10 layers (Section 4).

Fourth, the layers are doing something; what they are not doing is separating direction. Within the same layers, “absolute D ÷ size of the forward move” has a median of 0.001912, and that share does not grow however much the magnitude does (Section 5).

Fifth, prediction ④ half failed. On the synthetic random walk even the magnitude does not move: the fifth layer over the first runs from 0.9900 to 1.0395 times (Section 6).

Sixth, ★ so the two halves come from different places. The magnitude separates because markets have volatility clustering; the direction does not separate because the quantity carries no sign. The first is a property of the market, the second is algebra (Section 6).
