Abstract

The phase-space trilogy (Paper 76 = the hinge $(T^*M,\omega,H)$; 77 = Liouville; 78 = friction) set the “stage” and “the reversible flow upon it.” Paper 79 showed one instance: the “extra conserved quantity” proper to the inverse-square force (the LRL vector) generates the hidden symmetry $SO(4)$. This paper reads the general principle behind that instance(Noether’s theorem (1918))on the phase space $T^*M$. The claim reduces to the most beautiful sentence in classical mechanics: to every continuous symmetry there corresponds exactly one conserved quantity. In the language of $(T^*M,\omega)$: that the flow generated by a function $G$ ($\iota_{X_G}\omega=dG$) leaves $H$ invariant (a symmetry) and that $G$ itself is conserved (a conservation law) are two faces of one equation, the Poisson bracket $\{G,H\}=0$. This symmetry–conservation dictionary reads: time-translation → energy, space-translation → momentum, rotation → angular momentum (the momentum map). Paper 79’s $\mathbf{L}$ ($SO(3)$) and the LRL vector $\mathbf{A}$ (the hidden $SO(4)$) are precisely such momentum maps(and “an extra conserved quantity” is another name for “an extra symmetry.” This paper places 79’s specific case under 80’s general rule. Discipline: Noether’s theorem is a borrowed standard fact; this paper produces no new mathematics and no new predictions. It does not explain “why the universe has that symmetry”)Noether says conservation follows from symmetry, not whence the symmetry (in an expanding universe global time-translation symmetry is generally broken, and global energy conservation becomes subtle、the converse instance). Different conserved quantities ($E,\mathbf{p},\mathbf{L},\mathbf{A}$), though they share the value “each is conserved,” are quantities of distinct origin and are not fused (distinct roots; Papers 58/48). This paper is a structural interpretation.
