要旨
埋葬・火葬・改葬の件数を、衛生行政報告例（令和6年度、厚生労働省【生活衛生】第6表）で数え、人口・経済センサスと突き合わせた。
火葬率は 99.9771%。 総数 1,674,520 件のうち火葬が 1,674,137 件、埋葬（いわゆる土葬）は 383 件しかない。
その383件のうち250件、65.3%が神奈川県に集中している。 埋葬が1件以上あった都道府県は29で、残る18は0である。
改葬（いわゆる墓じまい）は 176,105 件。火葬の 10.5% にあたる。 うち無縁墳墓等の改葬が 3,006 件（1.7%）。人口10万人あたりでは長崎県529から福井県33まで 16.2倍 の開きがある。
北海道の改葬は 14,628 件で、全国の 8.3%。 北海道の人口は全国の4.0%なので、2倍の集中である。人口10万人あたり293で47都道府県中4位。
経済センサスの火葬・墓地管理業（795）は 1,568 事業所。1事業所あたり年 1,067.7 件の火葬にあたるが、火葬場は市町村が運営していることが多く、事業所として現れないことがある。
人口10万人あたりの火葬と高齢化率の相関は r = +0.936 ときわめて強い。
Abstract
I counted burials, cremations and grave relocations in the Report on Public Health Administration (FY2024, MHLW, Environmental Health Table 6) and read them against population and the Economic Census.
The cremation rate is 99.9771%. Of 1,674,520 cases, 1,674,137 were cremations and only 383 were burials in the ground.
Of those 383, 250（65.3%）were in Kanagawa Prefecture alone. Twenty-nine prefectures recorded at least one burial; the other eighteen recorded none.
Grave relocations number 176,105, equal to 10.5% of cremations. Of these, 3,006 (1.7%) were relocations of graves with no surviving kin. Per 100,000 residents the figure runs from 529 in Nagasaki to 33 in Fukui, a 16.2-fold spread.
Hokkaido accounts for 14,628 relocations, 8.3% of the national total, against 4.0% of the population、a 2.1-fold concentration, 4th of 47 prefectures at 293 per 100,000 residents.
Economic Census subcategory 795 (crematoria and cemetery management) counts 1,568 establishments, implying 1,067.7 cremations per establishment per year、but crematoria are frequently run by municipalities and may not appear as establishments at all.
Cremations per 100,000 residents correlate with the share aged 65 and over at r = +0.936.
